Jordan (L) and Andre Ayew (Centre) in an emotional goal celebration

When talking African football, Ghana are undoubtedly one the countries which do not let their fans down and last night, they proved it once more.

The black stars opened the score on the 65th minute with Jordan Ayew’s volley from the edge of eighteen yard putting the black stars a goal ahead before it was cancelled by Paul – Jose Mpoku on the 68th minute to make it 1 – 1.

Christian Atsu dribbled past the Congolese defenders to find the scoring opportunity but he was brought down in the 16 yard box. Andre Ayew did not make a mistake by converting it from the penalty spot to put the boys of Avram Grant back in the lead on the 79th minute.

Junior Kabananga, a Congolese prolific goal scorer neither found the back of the net nor dominated the game as he used to do in other previous games.

Meanwhile, the English premier league side West Ham United took to their official twitter account to congratulate Ghana for successfully reaching to semis where they will face either Burkina Faso or Cameroon.

It’s team spirit, commitment and being focused that makes up a team, not big names. Ghana have always been delivering to their best in the absence of big names like Essien and Asamoah Gyan.
